A note for health care professionals: To treat blepharospasm, reconstitute the Botulax 200 by diluting the product using preservative-free, sterile saline. Use a sterile 27-30 gauge needle for injections. Start with a dose of 1.25-2.5U, injecting into the medial and lateral pre-tarsal orbicularis oculi of the upper lid and the lateral pre-tarsal orbicularis oculi of the lower lid. Results become partially apparent within 3 days and demonstrate themselves fully in 1-2 weeks. You can increase the dose in future sessions if needed, but stay under 200 U in 30 days.
For glabellar lines, reconstitute the botulinum toxin to get 200 U/5.0 mL. Use a 30-gauge needle and inject 0.1 mL at 5 sites across the forehead muscles, 2 in each corrugator muscle and 1 in the procerus muscle, totaling 20 U. Be cautious to prevent complications like ptosis.
